Adelaide Botanic Garden
I spent 6 months as a resident poet in the Adelaide Botanic Garden in 2012. The Garden was first opened to the public in 1857 and its historic buildings, statues and plant collections are wonderfully inspiring. During my time there, I spent at least one day a week strolling around the Garden discovering new areas of interest or sitting writing in the little cafe next to the duck pond. I was allowed access to the historic archives which provided a great deal of fascinating information. I blogged about my experience, left copies of the poems I wrote in the cafe for visitors to take away with them and eventually produced a small chapbook for sale in Diggers Garden Shop. Below are some of the poems produced for this project.
